being able to explain how they solved questions using maths language and

Strategies/Approaches to achieve goal:
Planning of more
tasks that develop concepts rather than just procedures – using Mastery of
Maths – Maths Hub example questions. Using a challenge question near the end of
the task – something that has not been taught, but relates to the concept and
involves deeper thinking.
Getting
children to represent their understanding in different ways.
Questioning
– what does multiplication look like? What strategy would you use to solve
this? Why is this the best strategy? Why does your
solution make sense to you?
Manipulatives
to use as an aid to deepen understanding/Use of bar model.
